As an organisation addressing the challenges faced by feral cats in office and business parks, we frequently receive public requests to intervene when these cats are spotted.
Unfortunately, despite our efforts to trap, sterilise, and return them, we often face resistance from those demanding their removal. The situation is even more challenging as we currently have no alternative locations to relocate these cats, leaving us with limited options.
What’s needed is change; a shift in the existing policies addressed under the Pest Control Act.
Feral cats are not pests; they are sentient beings trying to survive in an urban landscape.
Regrettably, the current system is devoid of suitable provisions for protecting these homeless animals, and this has devastating effects on the ecosystem and humane values alike.
