Information we collect
We only collect what we need to help the cats and respond to you:
- Details you give us in our adoption, foster, trap-loan or contact forms — such as your name, email address, phone number and message.
- Basic technical information your browser sends automatically, and cookies (see below), to keep the site working and understand how it is used.
How we use your information
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, process adoption / foster / trap-loan requests, keep records of our rescue work, issue Section 18A tax certificates where applicable, and improve the website. We do not sell your information to anyone.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use a small number of them so the site functions and to remember your cookie choice. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit, and you can clear cookies in your browser at any time.
Sharing your information
We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate (for example, our website host or a donation platform such as BackaBuddy), and where required by law. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Your rights (POPIA)
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, you may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to its use. To do so, email wecare@catfamilyfoundation.co.za.
